Victoria Gaiya: Vicki is a high school English teacher living in the Finger Lakes area of New York State. Vicki’s most influential person in her life has been old TV reruns of Loretta Young. She remembers
Loretta Young’s luminous beauty and wonderful TV smile no matter how bad things were in that week’s episode and has adopted that lifestyle as her own.

Joe Gaiya: Joe is Vicki’s husband and they have been married for 27 years. Joe, a IT security analyst, feels personally attacked when Vicki is cyber bullied. But he really feels threatened when she loses weight.

Miranda Gaiya: Miranda is Vicki and Joe’s youngest daughter. Because they live in a small town, she attends the same high school as her mother. A naive perfectionist, Miranda unwittingly helps Vicki’s cyber bully.

Suzie and Jonathon Logan: Suzie is Vicki and Joe’s eldest daughter and Jonathon is her husband. She is obsessed with the appearance of herself, her house and her children. This image is threatened when Vicki loses weight. They are the parents of four year old twins, Stephanie and Tiffani.

Ron Tuff: Ron is the Principal of Vick’s school. He likes to dump his work on Vicki and makes her life even more difficult after she is cyber bullied. He resents her weight loss because she has less time to do his work.

Lunette della Robbia: Lunette teaches across the hall from Vicki. She is larger in life both in her size and in her enthusiasm for living. She challenges Vicki’s self perception.

Cyndi Znace: Cyndi is Vicki’s skinny cousin and lives up to her namesake as a snake in the grass.

Dr. Miriam Silverglass: Dr. Silverglass is the family doctor and encourages Vicki to lose weight for her health.
